Season of Bills

So I've been in the flat just over 3 months, so all those bills that are by default quarterly (so thats, gas, electricity, water, etc) are due to all arrive in one go, and charge me for the last 3 months worth of usage. I also got my first council tax bill earlier this month, which needs to charge me for 6 months over the next 3.

I've responded to this suddenly increased financial burden by buying an Xbox 360 and a bunch of games for it....

I’m sure there’s a flaw in my logic somewhere, but for now I’m choosing to ignore it. Pretty shiny cars help dull the pain.

The Time Fairy

I've a sneaking suspicion that the Time Fairy is stealing my time. She's something like the Tooth Fairy, but significantly more sinister and frustrating. The Time Fairy is responsible for all those missed seconds, minutes and hours where you think "whoa, were did the time go?!?" - the Time Fairy took it!

And last night the Time Fairy stole all the minutes between 11:30pm and 1:45am. As a result, I'm bloody knackered this morning.

So, if you're reading this Time Fairy, please restrict your time-stealing activities to the hours between 9am and 5pm, Mondays to Fridays, not including those days I have booked as leave. Thank you.

Happy 2006

So here’s wishing everyone a happy 2006, full of whatever you like your years to be full of.

I also can’t help but say that I feel it’s somewhat appropriate that a very large proportion of population start every year with a ridiculous hangover.

I did think about writing a long post on the insignificance of the first of January over any other day, but that just makes me look like a sourpuss. And I’m not. Honest.
