Socialite

I've had a busy, and by my standards, very social, few days.

Friday: The grand Christmas "do" at the place where I work. A posh venue (York Racecourse) an attendance of around 500, nice food, expensive drink and a band led by crazy "Big Ian" made for a good night. Didn't pick up any women, unlike some others. But I wasn't putting in the same amount of effort they were either, so I guess that’s fair. (It works in films, but the "sitting on your own looking a bit sullen" thing doesn't attract women.)

Saturday: The Pub. Went out with the usual crowd to see an old friend who moved away. It was a good evening, and the new licensing laws here in the UK meant the bar stayed open until 12. Not that any of us actually ordered anything since about 10:30, we were too busy talking about very odd stuff.

Sunday: The Pub, again. This time for lunch for another friend who left us. Played pool, managed to beat my old nemesis even. Which was pure fluke, since I've barely played a game in 18 months. Was great fun, and one of those things I'd never have managed to go to had I not moved out.

Tonight: The Pub, again. This time for the "Big Quiz" hosted by the same "Big Ian". I'm sure he won't get us to do silly dancing this time, but he may well point out my youthful good looks in much less flattering terms. Again.

My mouse fingers will be getting rusty, might have to take a day or two off when Amazon eventually finds the 360 they promised me before Christmas.
