Tick Tock Tick

Went to bed at 1 am on Friday, 2 am on Saturday, and still, right on cue, my infernal internal body clock wakes me up at 9 on Sunday. I always wake up 10 minutes before my alarm during the week (but as a point of protest, refuse to actually get up until it's gone off). Damn internal clocks... so now I'm tired but also unable to sleep, because something has decided thats enough sleep for now. Suppose I'll just sleep it off at work.

Party was fun last night (except my shockingly flat and stuttering rendition of New York New York. If we'd started on the rock stuff we finished on, I'd have probably done ok. I know them much better, and the importance of the tunefulness of the singer is 2nd to that of the guitars). Some of the costumes best described as "interesting", but some pretty good ones. The girls especially, should be commended for their attempts at Moulan Rouge (or however it's spelt) characters. Hopefully some of the people with cameras will send me some photos to host in the gallery (*prod*).

A Post in the Mist

Points of interest this week:

My last 4 weeks work being cancelled the same day it was signed off as complete
Catching a coach to work due to someone getting themselves between the tack and the train just past my station, and cancelling all services on the line
Getting staff. A contractor joined the team, primarily to support me and the masses of project and other work I have on. I've absolutely no idea what to give him to do... not exactly used to being anywhere but the bottom of the heap.
The ADSL router dieing (or rather, the bit that regulates power flow to it going poof. Most people call it a switch.) Got a new one, with a proper hardware firewall build in (my bothers PC appears to have acquired a taste of viruses and Trojans). It doesn’t have an on/off switch, so that’s one less point of failure I guess...
In a moment of craziness (ok, a moment of even greater craziness than my usual level) giving myself a hairstyle that looked more like a Cornish pasty than a hairstyle, and thus providing the Friday entertainment for the whole office.
Laughing at my team at work due to my guesswork entry into the Euro2004 competition at work beating just about the whole teams thus far (a long way to go yet) and, more importantly, a long way ahead of Chips entry.

Think that’s it. Party tonight. Wearing a hat.

And some other clothes.

Thinking too much...

...to have anything worth saying.

Much has been on my mind recently, but none of it translates well in to a blog post. I could bore you all to death with an essay on the nature of reality. Or how about "priorities - what makes something worthwhile?". "The Meaning of Me" (or what I think about how I think). "Love and Sacrifice" and "When is it wrong to do the right thing?". "The world in shades of grey" and many more. While I could write several pages of brain-dump on each of these, as they all occupy my thoughts to a greater or lesser extent a lot of the time (especially my "alone time" on the train and walking home) it wouldn't make good reading. Or much sense perhaps.

Move along.
